The mysterious man from Taured

The Man from Taured is a mysterious person who appeared at a Japanese airport. He claimed to be from “Taured” and is believed to have come from the future or a parallel universe.

The Man from Taured

In July 1954, a businessman arrived at the airport in Tokyo. He queued up like everyone else but attracted the attention of security and was called over for a check. He looked Western, was well dressed, and his passport seemed authentic except for one detail: his country of origin was Taured, which is still unknown today. Surprised by the name, the agents asked him for an explanation, but the man seemed irritated, believing he was the victim of a joke.

He is asked to show his country of origin on a map and he points straight to present-day Andorra. However, when he does not see the name Taured, he is first surprised and then angry, thinking it is a bad joke. He also says that his country has existed for over a thousand years. But the oddities do not end there: banknotes from various countries, both Eastern and European, are found in his possession, and his passport is duly stamped as that of a man who travels frequently for work, with stamps from various countries, including Japan.

He also claims to work for a company which, when questioned, denies knowing this mysterious character, who, however, has tangible evidence proving that he really worked for this company. He is then taken to a hotel room, locked in and guarded by two policemen while the police try to clarify the situation. The next day, however, there is a bitter surprise: when they enter the room, the man has disappeared.

He vanished into thin air without a trace. Was he a time traveler? Will Andorra really be called Taured in a thousand years?

Or was he a person from a parallel universe? Perhaps we will never know.
